Was Bischoff really too busy writing the silly introductions to leave these two nothings without a script to follow? The main event was a Stun Gun ladder match between Scott Hall and Goldberg, based on Hall helping Kevin Nash in beating Goldberg for the WCW … This was obviously just to set up the angle at the end and the match was pretty bad because of it. After some stuff on the floor where Jericho hurts his knee we get some knee work from Chono in the ring. The stage is pretty much completely dark and evil-looking. If you know anything about Bret's journey after the Screwjob, you know this doesn't go well. Almost paid for starrcade 97 but didn't and I am still glad. Hall, Nash, and Syxx all join Hogan to give the Giant a paint job. Nothing special at all here as this DRAGGED. The new World order come into the arena hanging on the back of dump trucks along with this huge obnoxious police and fire truck escort. They show Mongo and Debra are in the crowd. Jericho is more or less nothing at this point so this should be a glorified squash for Chono. It was the main driving forces behind World Championship Wrestling promotion rise on topping the World Wrestling Federation, back in the Monday Night Wars, for a while. If you’re stupid enough to think this lasted through Nitro the next night, you’re a very stupid person. The crowd goes nuts as Page starts swinging at everybody and then makes a run for it up into the upper deck as he celebrates with all the fans and rips off the nWo shirt. This is a very different kind of show as it’s the first and more or less only official NWO PPV. There’s one good match out of like eight and even it’s nothing worth going out of your way to see. Pretty surprised Hogan vs Warrior wasn't the main event. Eddie drills him with it and they both fall, but Guerrero holds onto it to get the title back for good this time. No idea why WCW never used him in that role instead of a manager who never talked. WCW president/nWo member Eric Bischoff and Ted DiBiase provided commentary. Nick Patrick awards Norton the match via countout. He misses a Bossman straddle and they go to the floor as Wallstreet takes part in some guardrail action. To be fair, he has been refereeing all night. (9:05) Well I don’t know about you, but I laughed at the finish.
The main event pits Goldberg against Scott Hall in a ladder stun gun match, what a load of fun that is going to be. Big suicide dive by Waltman and the crowd is clearly restless even though this has been a pretty decent match so far.
